HOUSING SUPPORT WORKERS

The Housing Support Worker assists people who are either homeless or at risk of being homeless find and maintain stable housing. In doing so the Housing Support Worker will assist the person in obtaining the necessary goods/services required for permanent housing. The Housing Support Worker will assist anyone who is homeless or at risk of being homeless, however, priority will be given to individuals who have comples needs. These are individuals who intersect multiple service provider systems and whose circumstances often result in them continuously cycling through social , correctional, mental health and/or addiction services.

Our support workers:

• Assist people secure stable housing

• Provides referrals and client advocacy

• Assists with landlord/tenant issues

• Provides assistance with the Newfoundland and Labrador Housing applications

• Assists with eviction prevention and life skill guidance.

• Provides information regarding the Newfoundland and Labrador Residential Tenancies Act.
